The company unveiled the Nokia 7 smartphone yesterday in China. Let’s take a look at the Nokia 7 specs, features, price and anything else concerning this phone.
As you may already know, the Nokia 7 was announced yesterday by HMD Global in China. The company has a history of two smartphones that are intended for those who are restricted to a budget, the Nokia 3 and Nokia 5. They also have the mid-range Nokia 6. We have had an opportunity to take a look at the Nokia 8, that was recently publicly revealed and is Nokia’s flagship model. One would think that the company has forgotten how to count, given that the Nokia 2 and 9 are in the works, and now we have seen the Nokia 7. Let’s take a closer look at its features and price.
The Nokia 7 looks quite charming. While the Nokia 8 has a metal housing, the Nokia 7 features a mixture of an aluminum frame and vacuum molded back made out of Gorilla Glass. The phone features a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass 3 damage protection. Still, there are sizable bezels at the top and bottom of the front side, similar to its sibling the Nokia 8.
The Nokia 7 specs include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 and 4 or 6GB of RAM. It is noticeable that HMD Global wanted to ensure that the smartphone would run smoothly. Also, the smartphone features 64GB of storage and 128GB MicroSD spot. There’s no doubt that you’ll be able to place all your photos, videos, and documents in the Nokia 7. It is worth mentioning that Nokia uses the Zeiss lenses when it comes to the rear camera. The rear camera features a 16MP sensor with the dual-tone LED flash. The front camera is equipped with a 5MP sensor. Also, the cameras can combine into Dual-Sight camera mode which enables you to snap images from either side of the phone.
The smartphone kept the audio jack, which was expected and sports a USB Type-C port. Also, the IP54 will protect your smartphone from splashing, but unlike the other high-end smartphones, the Nokia 7 doesn’t feature dust-resistance.
The phone will be shipped with the Android Nougat 7.1.1 operating system. However, Nokia said that the Android 8.0 Oreo update for this particular device will be available soon. That being said, users will get to enjoy using Google’s new operating system shortly after they receive their own Nokia 7. Additionally, Nokia said that the smartphone will get monthly security updates to keep the smartphone smooth and secure. Also, Nokia featured a few changes to AOSP. Customers will be overjoyed to get the Nokia 7 with less bloatware.
Price
It is still unclear when and whether the Nokia 7 will hit the other markets. As of now, it will be available in China, starting October 24. The 4GB model has a CNY 2,499 price-tag, which equals US $377. The 6GB model will be available for CNY 2,699, which equals US $407.
