Just ahead of the big Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) event to be held tomorrow, leaked pictures of a Lumia 1520 confirm a 20 megapixel PureView camera. Nokia is set to hold its event tomorrow where it is expected to showcase the awaited gadgets, but Lumia 1520 pictures showing a staggering 20 megapixel snapper have already surfaced, killing the excitement slightly.
Lumia 1520, a new segment for Nokia
Chinese website Tmall has published Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) Lumia 1520 photos where features of the new Lumia can be seen, and it almost seals the news that the phone has a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and 20MP PureView camera.
Prices are expected to be as high as 4999 yuan (around £510, $820, AU$850) while international prices will differ slightly. Through the Lumia 1520, anticipated to have a 6 inch, 1080p screen, Nokia and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) will foray into the phablet zone for the first time. Lumia 1520 will compete with HTC One Max and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
Both the larger screen and quad-core support were made possible by the recent Windows Phone 8 update 3 that was announced last week. Lumia 1520 might be the last handset from Nokia before selling off its smartphone business to Microsoft.
MP3 player pics also leaked
Another website, Evleaks has leaked images of another Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) device expected to be unveiled at the event tomorrow. The new gadget, known as Guru, is probably an MP3 player. The new MP3 player is similar to Nokia phones in design. Another possibility is that this gadget might be a headset gear to support the smartphone range. Its small screen looks similar to the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPod Nano, but it looks different than Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Bluetooth devices.
Recent reports suggest Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK) (BIT:NOK1V) (HEL:NOK1V) has sold a record number of Lumia smartphones after performing poorly for months. Though the number seems to be a drop in the ocean when compared to rivals like Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), who sold around 9 million phones in a week, numbers do suggests that Nokia is at last gaining some traction in the market.
