Supplies of the Nexus 6 are still very limited, with the smartphone still not having arrived on some major mobile networks in the U.S. Shipments of the smartphone initially started on Nov. 3 after preorders began in late October.

Sprint Corporation (NYSE:S) is one of the carriers that still doesn’t have the Nexus 6, and there still isn’t an availability date for it. However, a Sprint employee has shared some additional details about the Nexus 6 launch on the Sprint network in a post on Reddit.

The Nexus 6 on Sprint’s network

The Reddit post was spotted by BGR, and it comes from iamdenden, who has been verified by the social network as an employee of Sprint. The employee states that Sprint will only be offering the 32-gigabye Nexus 6 in midnight blue, although a release date was not given. T-Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) will have a limited number of Nexus 6 units available in carrier stores starting tomorrow.

Apparently those who want the 64-gigabyte version of the Nexus 6 will have to purchase it directly from Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) or Motorola. Anyone looking for any other colors on the Sprint network will also have to purchase directly from them.

Nexus 6 available unlocked directly from Google

The Sprint employee stated that consumers will also be able to purchase a Nexus 6 from the Google Play Sore and activate it on the Sprint network. All devices purchased from the Google Play Store come unlocked out of the box. However, they must purchase a UICC SIM card in order to use the smartphone on Sprint’s network, as the SIM card does not come with it.

In addition, the person stated that those who take their Nexus 6 into a Sprint store should not be required to pay an activation fee because they are not signing a contract or buying a phone with a subsidy.

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and U.S. Cellular are also selling the Nexus 6, although there aren’t many details about availability on those networks. Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ)’s network can also support the smartphone, although the carrier will not be selling it in its carrier stores.
