Nexus 5 In Bright Red Available At Google Play Store

The Nexus 5, whose snapshots were leaked last week, is now available at Google Play. Both the versions; 16GB and 32GB are available at Google Play carrying a price tag of $349 and $399 respectively. The specifications of the new device are similar to the existing black and white models with the only noticeable difference being a new coat of bright red paint.

Available in a host of countries

Initially the device was leaked two weeks ago, and was spotted/unboxed in warehouses. Also, internal Sprint documents almost confirmed the existence of the model along with confirming the availability date of February 4.

In a press release, LG told officials that the red Nexus 5 is available in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, and Korea. In Europe, “Wider availability” across the region is expected by the end of February.

In U.K, retailer Carphone Warehouse has been given exclusive rights for the new color Nexus 5. The British outlet has lowered the price of SIM-free Nexus 5 to match the Google Play store

Nexus 5 specifications

The red Nexus 5 is fitted with a 5-inch 1080p display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, and boasts a pixel density of 445ppi. The device, equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 3, has a 2.26GHz Qualcomm 800 Snapdragon quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM. The device will be powered by the latest version of Android 4.4 KitKat.

Coming to the camera, the Nexus 5 has an 8.0-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and a front camera of 1.3-megapixel. The Nexus 5 does not support expandable storage unlike the earlier Nexus 4. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and 3G are the connectivity options and the device supports wireless charging and sports dual microphones.

The Nexus 5 enjoys a 2300mAh battery, which allows a talk time up to 17 hours and 300 hours of standby time. The device weighs 130 grams and comes with dimensions 137.8×69.1×8.59. The Nexus 5, manufactured by LG and released in October 2013, has been impressive and received 4.5 stars out of five for its great value, attractive display and speedy performance in TechRadar’s review.
