T-Mobile Restores Coverage to Customers

T-Mobile, a subsidiary of Germany-based of Deutsche Telekom AG (FRA:DTE) (ETR:DTE) (PINK:DTEGY),, is one of the leading data service providers in the U.S. Today T-Mobile announced that it restored full service following an outage that affected data service on its cellular network, writes AllThingsD.

In its statement to the news site, the cellular network provider said, “T-Mobile experienced a network data issue Monday night that affected service for some customers with a 3G or 4G device,” adding, “Some customers were not able to initiate a data session, or experienced intermittent data connectivity.”

However, the company announced to have solved the problem on Monday evening, and all customers were able to access the services as usual. Nonetheless, the company declined to disclose the cause of the problem.

“T-Mobile’s data service has been fully restored,” the company said. “Rapid response engineering teams identified and resolved the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience.”

According to CNET, the problem is estimated to have begun at 6 p.m. PT and was fixed around 9:20 p.m.  The problem  affected a fraction of the company’s data service customers.

Several complaints over the issue were noted in twitter feeds, with a majority of the customers tweeting a couple of hours after the problem begun. The company is also quoted on twitter admitting to the outage and impact on its customers, after it promised to keep the customers on point over the issue.

A tweet from one T-Mobile customer, Olivia Newton-Jawn, read:

“I had to check twitter…just to see what was up with T Mobile, since my phone Internet is down.., along with their customer service.”

T-Mobile tweeted:

“T-Mobile is experiencing a network data issue. Service for some customers may be impacted. We’ll keep everyone posted.”

At the time of this writing, T-Mobile had not yet disclosed the cause of the outage.
