The debate on minimum wage has been a popular one of late as fast food workers across the country seem to go on strike every other week demanding higher wages ($15 per hour to be exact). After all, Australians working at McDonald’s make $15 per hour, so why not here?
The graphic below from Lisa Mahapatra at the International Business Times shows minimum wages from across the globe as well as their value when adjusted to factor in purchasing power and cost of living. To those American fast food workers, may we suggest the Mexican adjusted minimum wage of $.55 per hour? Certainly they’re hiring at one of their 400 locations south of the border.
