Don’t like the clean white Xbox One S that costs $299? You can pre-order a special edition version of the console that bundles in an early access copy of Gears of War 4 along with other exclusive items. The Gears of War 4-themed Xbox One S has a beaten up look with a metallic red color scheme and laser-etched scratches that give you the feel of the Gears of War 4.
The Gears 4 edition Xbox One S to ship in mid-September
Microsoft announced Thursday that the special edition will be priced at $449 and will start shipping in mid-September. Its uniquely themed controller and console give the GoW4 fans a good reason to shell out more money. The limited edition console features a 2TB hard drive, a customized controller, and a download code for Gears of War 4. Though the game launches on October 11, the special edition buyers will gain early access to the game on October 7.
The bundle also includes Gears of War 4 weapon and character skins, six Gear packs with in-game items, and a multiplayer lobby emblem. Microsoft said the special edition will be available for a limited time while supplies last. So, if you are a Gears of War 4 fanatic, you can pre-order the console using this link. The bundle will be available in the US, Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany, and other European markets.
Microsoft to launch one more controller
Microsoft will also debut another Gears of War 4 custom controller that will be sold separately at $74.99. It will be sold exclusively at the Microsoft Store and GameStop. The Redmond-based company has designed the Xbox Wireless Controller – Gears of War 4 JD Fenix Limited Edition after protagonist JD Fenix’s armor. It features metallic blue accents and textured grip for enhanced controls.
The Xbox One S was announced at the E3 event. We reported earlier this week that Microsoft is also expected to launch a special edition bundled with Halo 5: Guardians. It will reportedly be a 1TB system.
