After rumors surrounding the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Lite, we are starting to hear reports about the Mate 10 Pro. Trusted tipster Evan Blass recently posted pictures the Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
Last month, Blass revealed that Huawei would release three variants of the Mate 10 models: a standard version, the Mate 10 Lite, and Mate 10 Pro versions. Now the latest images from the tipster suggest that Mate 10 Pro would support a 5.99-inch 2880×1440 display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Apart from the thin bezel, leaked pictures also reveal a dual-rear camera with Leica branding. A bright color strip is giving a unique rendition to the cameras. The strip is a bit lighter than the rest of the Mate 10 Pro’s finish.

Reportedly, the dual-camera will be 12 megapixels and 20 megapixels. It comes with an f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilization. The front camera is reportedly 8 megapixels. The Huawei Mate 10 Pro would is powered by the Kirin 970 processor and supports 6GB of RAM. Furthermore, the battery capacity is expected to be 4,000 mAh. The handset itself is expected to come in 64 GB and 128 GB variants. The Pro version is supposed to be available in dark blue, black and brown color with a band across the top of the phone.
Huawei recently promised a “real AI phone” while taking a dig at the latest iPhone. The Chinese smartphone maker may be referring to the Mate 10 series (and specifically the Pro version). They are expected to be launched later this month. According to a recent teaser video for the Mate 10, the Chinese company has claimed that the Mate 10 is not a smartphone, but rather, an “intelligent machine.”
How the AI will function on the smartphone is not known for now, but Huawei has mentioned a unique make-up and objects identification mode. The company has also claimed that the Kirin 970 is 50 times more efficient. It has 25 times more powerful artificial intelligence processing on their chip than on a conventional CPU core, notes XDA Developers.
On the other hand, rumors are suggesting that Huawei will follow in Samsung’s footsteps and allow its users to connect their smartphones to a bigger display. This means Huawei could launch a proprietary desktop dock that would feature a Display Port. Since Miracast is compatible with most of the smart TVs, finding a large screen would not be a challenge for the Mate 10 users, noted GizmoChina. This desktop dock will also support wireless connectivity so that the Mate 10 can be connected to a large screen via Miracast.
“I also have another secret news [sic] for you,” MirAxess CEO Yanis Anteur announced recently. “The new Huawei smartphones will have a DeX like a feature and should be compatible with the Mirabook.”
As of now, all this is just speculation based on mostly rumors. How much the phones will match the leaked designs and official claims, only time will tell. Huawei will launch the Mate 10 in an event scheduled on October 16, and there are good chances that we will see the Pro version there as well.
