Surveillance camera footage shows a man making off with a number of weapons from an army reserve center last weekend.

No arrests have been made yet but police have released a video of a man methodically stealing assault rifles and handguns from an army reserve center in Massachusetts The theft began around 6 p.m. Saturday evening and continued for the next five hours, according to The Associated Press.

Audacious thief breaks into army facility while alarms were disabled

The theft took place at the Lincoln Stoddard Army Reserve Center, with the suspect entering through the roof. The alarm was disabled at the time due to construction work at the facility, allowing the man to make off with 6 assault rifles and ten 9mm handguns.

Police are searching for a man described as having light skin, between 5’7”-5’10” tall with a stocky build. Footage shows that he was wearing a white t-shirt and a dark colored vest, loading the guns into a dark BMW hatchback.

Law enforcement has urged anyone with any information to contact police. You can do so via anonymous text (274637 TIPWPD + your message) or call in to Worcester Police Department at (508) 799-8651.

High caliber weapons among those stolen during raid

The FBI claims that there is no threat to the public and no link has been established with terrorism. Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker said that some of the weapons were high caliber and expressed his worries.

‘‘I’m especially concerned about it — separate and apart from anything that has to do with terrorism — I’m just concerned by the fact that some really high caliber weapons were stolen from a military facility in the first place,’’ Baker told reporters Monday.

The FBI, local and state law enforcement continue to investigate how the break-in occurred. Worcester City Manager Edward Augustus told reporters that extra police officers have been stationed throughout the community as a precautionary measure until further notice.

Details of the missing weapons have been uploaded to the National Crime Information Center, an online database which is searchable by police officers who find a suspect weapon. The investigation is ongoing but it is certainly interesting that the man appeared to know that the alarms were switched off due to construction.
