There are multiple reports of a live shooter on the Campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Monday.

UNC Chapel Hill administration sent out an alert at 8:55 AM Wednesday morning. “When the sirens sound, stop classroom and campus activities; all UNC operations are temporarily suspended. Remain inside your classroom or a safe place in your building unless police or University personnel instruct you to take a specific action, such as to evacuate a building, stay out of a certain part of campus, or go to your residence hall and stay there.”

UNC Public Safety also tweeted that there was an unconfirmed report of an armed person near the ROTC Building / Venable Hall on campus.

UPDATE: The UNC Chapel Hill alert has been cancelled.

Around 30 minutes after the initial alert, sirens on the campus went off again with a different tone and message: “All clear. Resume normal activities.”
