LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) launched two new mobile apps, Recruiter Mobile and Mobile Work With Us, making it easier for recruiters and companies to promote their open positions. These new apps are available to users of LinkedIn’s existing Recruiter and Work With Us services.
LinkedIn recruiter mobile
Yesterday, LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) released Recruiter Mobile for Apple iPhone, accessible to members of the premium Recruiter service. The new app hunts for candidates and gets feedback from hiring managers. Users can download this app for free and get real time replies to queries from recruiters either by phone, text, email, or through LinkedIn’s InMail service. While CheckIn, which was launched in May, was an app more suitable for job and career fairs, Recruiter Mobile is specifically for HR-related tasks on the move.
Mobile work with us
Another app launched by the social networking site for professionals is Mobile Work with Us, which is an upgraded version of existing service that displays openings on a company employee’s mobile LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) profiles.
Mobile Work with Us positions employees of the company as its brand ambassadors. It has almost everything on the wish list of a recruiter or company. Ad placements are at the top of user’s profile, which will for sure attract many eyes. To make it simpler, whenever an individual visits the mobile profile page of any company’s employee on LinkedIn, he or she will also get to see all relevant jobs offerings in that company.
A smart move
LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD)’s decision to unveil these two apps will further broaden its scope as a serious and trusted professional tool. The social networking site is trying to enhance its image rather than just being a site where users login once in a while to update their resume. LinkedIn is moving a step ahead by alluring regular visitors with customer content.
Parker Barrile, LinkedIn’s senior director of product, said in a blog post, “About 33 percent of members visit LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) from mobile. Plus, more than 30 percent of LinkedIn job views come from mobile and half of members who’ve applied via mobile for jobs posted on LinkedIn have never applied from their desktop.”
