The new LG G5 smartphone looks like it will be have a different design to the previous G4.
A number of cases for the new LG G5 have appeared on Amazon, revealing certain design features of the company’s new flagship smartphone.
Multiple leaks give clues on design of new LG G5 smartphone
According to a leaked 3D render video it looks like the LG G5 will use a metal casing, while the new handset will also feature a 5.6 inch display at 2560×1440 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM.
According to the latest rumors the phone will come with 64GB of in-built storage, and will support microSD cards if you want to add more space. The rear camera will boast 30 megapixels, and the front 8 megapixels.
The leaked phone case shows that the LG G5 will feature a dual-LED flash, with a laser autofocus window underneath. The window is also seen on LG devices like the G3, G4, and V10.
According to the leak the volume button has been moved to the side, and it looks as though the round power button might also double as a fingerprint sensor thanks to its rear placement.
In fact there were two different case designs spotted on Amazon. One uses a combination of matte black and crystal clear materials, and will ship on March 28.
It’s currently on sale for $9.99, a discount of 50% over the $19.95 RRP. The listed dimensions are 6 x 3 x 0.5 inches, which are very close to the previously mentioned handset dimensions.
The second option is sold as a protective case cover, and is available in several different colors. The case affords easy access to all of the buttons, controls and ports even while it is in place.
LG is expected to officially unveil the G5 at the Mobile World Conference on February 21. The highly-anticipated smartphone will enter a crowded market, where it will do battle with high-end handsets from Apple, Samsung and other competitors.
While previous editions were sub-premium, the G5 looks set to go into direct competition with the Samsung Galaxy S7. Samsung’s latest smartphone is scheduled to be unveiled on the same day as the G5.
