With the iPhone X and iPhone 8 launch approaching, many eager Apple phones are keenly awaiting the iPhone X event start time. With the conference and live stream details now widely available, there is no doubt that this will be one of the most viewed events in this or any other technology generation.

iPhone X launch event: Where and at what time?
The special event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on September 12. That’s 1 p.m. Eastern Time the same day. If you live in the UK, the event will begin at 6 p.m. BST on Tuesday. For Australians, that’s 3 a.m. AEST on September 13. It’s 10:30 p.m. in India, 8 p.m. in Moscow, 1 a.m. on Sept.13 in Shanghai, and 2 a.m. on Sept.13 in Tokyo.
The iPhone X launch event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in the new Apple Park campus. The Steve Jobs Theater has a seating capacity of only 1,000 people. Last year’s iPhone 7 event was held at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, which can accommodate as many as 5,000 people.
iPhone X launch: How to watch the event
The Cupertino company will live stream the event on its website. Apple uses the HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology for streaming. It means you’ll be able to watch it only on supported devices. If you want to live stream on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, you’ll need iOS 9.0 or later. Just open Safari browser and visit this link when the event kicks off.
Mac users need to be running Safari browser on macOS v10.11 or later to watch the event. If you own a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th generation Apple TV running software version 6.2 or later, you can download the Apple Events app to watch the show when it begins. Apple also allows Windows 10 PC users to live stream the event, but only if they visit this link via Edge browser.
iPhone X launch event: What to expect?
Of course, the biggest highlight of the show is going to be the 10th anniversary iPhone X. It will have a new design with an edge-to-edge 5.8-inch OLED screen. The phone will ditch the physical home button and introduce gesture controls for navigation. It would feature a vertically oriented dual camera setup on the back. The phone is said to have a starting price of $999, with the most expensive version setting you back by $1,199.
It’s the first time Apple will be launching three smartphones at the same event. The other two will be iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. These phones will look similar to the current models, but they will have a faster processor, a glass back panel, wireless charging, and many other internal improvements. Apple is believed to ditch the iPhone ‘S’ moniker this year.
We will also get to see the third-generation Apple Watch at the event. According to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Series 3 Apple Watch will look similar to the current models and will be available in 38mm and 42mm versions. It will come in both LTE and non-LTE variants. The LTE version will allow you to leave your iPhone behind and still be able to download apps, stream music, and do much more.
Apple is also set to unveil a new 4K Apple TV tomorrow. It will support 4K and HDR video streaming. The Cupertino company has been in talks with various TV studios, movie studios, and streaming apps about supplying 4K videos for the new Apple TV. Tim Cook may also announce a new HomePod speaker, but it will ship only in December.
Apple will also roll out software updates for all its platforms including watchOS, iOS, tvOS, and macOS. The iOS 11 will bring exciting new features such as augmented reality, peer-to-peer payments via Apple Pay, an improved Maps app, an improved Siri, and a better music experience. The iOS 11 interface has also been optimized to take advantage of the screen space on either side of the iPhone X’s top cutout.
Apple is expected to start taking pre-orders for the new iPhones on September 15. Pre-orders for new iPhones usually begin on Friday after the unveiling. The phones should go on sale on September 22 in key markets. However, it is not yet clear whether the iPhone X would also go on September 22 or get delayed by a few weeks. Even if the 10th-anniversary model becomes available on Sept.22, expect it to be in short supply.
