Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are already up for preorder, but only in gold. Legend – a company that soaks smartphones in gold and other valuable stones — understands that its customers do not like to wait around; hence, it has begun taking preorders in its trademark golden designs: Classique, Momentum and Classique Diamond, reports GSM Arena.
Gold-plated iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with 256GB of storage
It must be noted that Legend has firmly said that the new iPhones will come with 256GB of storage. This statement is similar to a recent Taiwanese report, which suggested the same bump in the top-of-the-line storage option.
Legend’s Classique Diamond option is actually the most interesting variant as it features a unique backlit logo and 360 VVS1 grade diamonds. Consumers can choose gold plating in styles including Platinum, Black Rhodium and Rose Gold. The gold plating is 10 microns thick.
There are other options available as well, including python leather and crocodile leather. For the 256GB iPhone 7, the Classique Diamond option will cost you €2,950. If you think that is inexpensive, the Momentum option with a 0.6 carat Ruby center stone around the gold-plated body of the handset will cost you €3,390.
Confusion about the release date
The fact that Legend is taking preorders is really interesting as the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have still not been officially announced, and there is no confirmation about their release date either. However, rumors suggest that the long-awaited phone could be launched at an Apple event on September 7. Going by this, we are less than three weeks away from seeing the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
Though September 7 appears to be the most likely date for the launch of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, a new rumor suggests a later release date. Since 2012, Apple has released new iPhones in September. Previously, the popular leakster Evleaks was the first to suggest that the new iPhone 7 would hit store shelves on September 16 with preorders starting September 9. The September 7 announcement date is based on this.
But a new rumor comes from AT&T in the form of a retail schedule that details future merchandising reset hours. The data indicates September 9 and September 23 as dates for these merchandising resets, which probably means that preorders are set for September 9 and that it will hit the shelves on September 23.
In other iPhone news, Apple may keep the camera bulge in its new iPhone 7. There have been rumors that consumers could see what is called the “camera ‘wart’” disappear in the upcoming iPhone 7, but both Apple Insider and Mac Rumors argue against this, saying the next camera technology in the iPhone 7 is expected to be more advanced and thinner but that it will still protrude.
Also Twitter tipster The Malignant, citing a Chinese source, claims the iPhone 7 could come with Fast Charging technology. If this is true, it will bring the iPhone 7 on par with smartphones that already have this feature, such as the Galaxy Note 7, which can charge up to 50% in just 10 minutes.
