Sources within the supply chain claimed that the iPhone 6S will accompany Apple Watch

Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are just over four months old, but speculations have started flying about the company’s next flagship dubbed the iPhone 7. A recent report from Know Your Mobile claims that the Cupertino company will launch the iPhone 6S alongside Apple Watch in April, followed by the iPhone 7 in September.

iPhone 7 Price, Release Date And More Rumors

When is the iPhone 7 coming?

That’s in line with a previous report by Jerry Miller of Stabley Times. Sources within the supply chain told Miller that the iPhone 6S will accompany Apple Watch as the Cupertino company was hesitant to launch its wearable device without a new iPhone to go along with it. The report claims that the iPhone 6S will be relatively cheaper (but not a low-cost product) for consumers looking for a reasonable upgrade.

A shorter upgrade cycle will also help the company compete better with Android smartphones. But if Apple decided to stick to its annual upgrade cycle, the iPhone 6S could arrive in September this year. In that scenario, the iPhone 7 won’t hit the stores until late 2016. There are no details yet about its pricing. But The Inquirer says it will likely to be priced similarly to the iPhone 6.

iPhone 7 to have a DSLR quality camera

A recent report suggests that the iPhone 7 will have an OLED display. Foxconn is setting up a new $2.6 billion display manufacturing facility to meet Apple’s future demands. Cowen & Co analyst Robert Stone recently said in a research note that multiple manufacturers will be responsible for the iPhone 7 display.

What’s more, the iPhone 7 will have a DSLR quality camera. Daring Fireball‘s John Gruber has learned from industry sources that the next iPhone’s camera will undergo a major upgrade from 8MP in current models to 21MP main camera with two-lens system in the iPhone 7. The Cupertino company is also expected to increase the RAM from 1GB to 2GB.
