Apple’s lead in services could give iPhone 6 an edge

Apple’s iPhone 6 will get the newest iOS 8 operating system, which brings plenty of new features and services. The Galaxy S6 is likely to run the Android L, which is yet to be unveiled. Samsung has added new features such as a heart rate sensor and a UV sensor to its recent phones, that will also appear in the Galaxy S6. But the Korean company may fall short on the services front.

The iPhone 6 will have health & fitness tracking features, mobile payments service and a home automation app called HomeKit. Apple has signed agreements with healthcare providers to make its HealthKit the central hub for health data. The company has also entered deals with payment processors like MasterCard, Visa and American Express for its payments service. These strategic moves on the services front could give Apple a distinct edge over its biggest rival.
