The iPhone 6, a revolutionary wearable device iWatch and a larger 12.9-inch iPad are all expected to be launched this year. There have already been a lot of rumors around the display of each of those Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) devices. But DisplaySearch has come up with its own predictions about displays that may arrive with the iPhone 6, larger iPad and the smartwatch.

The researcher expects the iPhone 6 to come in two different screen sizes, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch. That’s in line with media reports that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is planning to launch the iPhone 6 with bigger screens to combat its Asian Android rivals. Large screen smartphones have become increasingly popular, but Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 5S still has a comparatively smaller 4-inch screen. DisplaySearch said that both versions of the iPhone will have an LCD display.

The 4.7-inch model may sport a 1600 x 900 resolution or 386 PPI. In contrast, the 5.5-inch version is likely to come with 1920 x 1080 resolution (401 PPI). If the predictions are accurate, the iPhone 6’s resolution will be close to that of Galaxy S4, which has a 5-inch screen with 1920 x 1080 display. But Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930) uses a different Super AMOLED display in its flagship smartphone.

Though the iPhone 6 may not have an AMOLED display, researchers say that the technology is likely to be used in iWatch. The widely expected wearable device could have a 1.3-inch or 1.6-inch 320 x 320 (348 PPI) flexible AMOLED display. So far, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) hasn’t used AMOLED display is any of its devices.

12.9-inch iPad display

On the other hand, DisplaySearch reiterates that the 12.9-inch iPad would sport a 2732 x 2048 resolution (265 PPI) LCD screen. That’s the same pixel density the iPad Air has. DisplaySearch also made predictions about many other displays that could be used in a variety of devices this year. The researcher’s predictions are based on the new features, display sizes and resolutions seen at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. So, some of them may not materialize this year.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) shares skidded 0.43% to $551.87 in pre-market trading Friday.
