iPhone 6 Gets True One-Hand Usability With iOS Jailbreak Tweak

Updated on

Despite the large sizes of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, Apple management has said they strive to make it possible to use them with just one hand. However, even the Reachability feature fails to make this possible and has some drawbacks to using it.

Biggest complaint about the iPhone 6?

The problem appears to have been solved now thanks to a jailbreak tweak offered by Cydia. The makers of the OneHandWizard jailbreak tweak claim that the inability to use the iPhone 6 and especially the iPhone 6 Plus is the biggest complaint users have about the two phones.

Reachability, Apple’s attempt to address this issue, works by sliding the iPhone’s display down so that the contents can be more easily reached. Using the feature requires a double-touch of the Home button, but the slide lasts only a few seconds and also hides the content that’s on the bottom of the display until that display slides back up.

How OneHandWizard works

A new iOS jailbreak tweak called OneHandWizard offers what appears to be a better solution, according to BGR. To make it possible to reach the entire display on the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, OneHandWizard shrinks the size of the display and puts it in one of the lower corners. The tweak is customizable as well, allowing users to set the size they want the display to be shrunk down to and choose which of the two bottom corners they want it to go to.

We’ve embedded a video in which the jailbreak tweak is demonstrated below. Of course it requires users to jailbreak their device first, which many probably won’t want to do. Also people apparently aren’t too worried about being able to use their iPhone with one hand as Apple has seen iPhone sales take off again since it introduced the larger-screened iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus last year.

OneHandWizard is available in Cydia’s app store for $3.99.
