iPhone 6 Alleged Dummy Compared To Current iPhone 5S – Again

Updated on

A supposed dummy model of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 6 has again been compared with the iPhone 5S. French gadget site nowhereelse.fr made the latest comparison. Of course this is not the first, as a number of Chinese reports have talked about possible new features along with the first picture allegedly leaked in late March.

iPhone 6 more like iPod Touch

This particular mock-up of the iPhone 6 is 138 mm in length, 67 mm wide and 7 mm thick. Earlier reports claimed the thickness of the upcoming iPhone 6 is 6.1 mm, which is the same as the width of the iPod Touch width but thinner than the iPhone 5S by 1.5 mm. Last week, however, a different prototype was shown off, comparing it with the iPod Touch.

The supposed “industrial model” dummy has curved edges, round speaker ports and “softer” visuals very similar to that of the original iPad Mini. The latest version also includes a round LED flash port and painted lines, along with a segmented three-panel chassis design and jut-back camera.

Another report, which is said to be confirmed by Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s supply chain, claims different features of the 4.7-inch next-gen iPhone 6. Feng.Com, a Chinese Apple forum, confirmed the design details previously revealed. They consist of a wake / sleep button, rounded volume controls, a round LED flash, a segmented rear panel and more.

Though none of these reports can be called legitimate, both of them have a number of things in common.

Online videos of the Apple device

Not only these photos are doing the rounds. There are also videos showing a thinner upcoming iPhone 6 similar to the iPad Air. In the video, the alleged iPhone 6 Air is shown along with auxiliaries that could monitor heart beat and deliver notifications.  Just like the alleged iPhone 6 dummy leaked recently, the video also shows a circular flash, deviating from the pill-shaped dual-LED flash like what the iPhone 5S has. A new feature allegedly added to the iPhone 6’s camera is a new type of image stabilization that would allow users to snap better pictures.

The Cupertino, Calif.-based company is expected to launch two iPhone models in 2014, with bigger display sizes compared to their predecessors. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s supply chain is supposedly preparing production of the smaller 4.7-inch version for a launch in August, and the 5.5-inch phablet is expected to come later.
