The iPhone 11 Pro Max and Galaxy Note 10 Plus have been on the market for months now, but they are still some of the best handsets available. They also have some of the best cameras available on smartphones, so we decided to do a camera comparison pitting the iPhone 11 Pro Max vs the Galaxy Note 10 Plus.
iPhone 11 Pro Max vs Galaxy Note 10 Plus
Before we get to the camera comparison, let’s pit the iPhone 11 Pro Max vs the Galaxy Note 10 Plus in specs. The iPhone 11 Pro Max is slightly smaller at 6.5 inches, versus the Galaxy Note 10 Plus’ 6.8 inches. The iPhone is available in 64 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB options, while the Note is available in 256 GB and 512 GB options.
The Note 10 Plus really beats the iPhone 11 Pro Max in the RAM department as the Note has 12 GB of RAM, compared to the 4 GB the iPhone is believed to have (although Apple never actually gives the RAM included in its devices).
The Note 10 has an in-display fingerprint scanner, while the iPhone features Face ID only without a fingerprint scanner. Both are priced around $1,100. In general, the two devices are very similar on paper.
Camera comparison
Now let’s look at a camera comparison of the iPhone 11 Pro Max vs the Galaxy Note 10 Plus. The Note 10 Plus sports one extra lens on the rear-facing camera. It has a quad-sensor camera with a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, 12-megapixel telephoto lens, 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens and Time of Flight sensor. On the front, it has a 10-megapixel sensor.
The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a triple-lens camera on the rear with 12-megapixel wide, ultra-wide and telephoto lenses. The front-facing camera has a 12-megapixel TrueDepth sensor for Face ID.
On paper, the rear-facing cameras on the two devices are very similar, except that the Note 10 Plus has a Time of Flight sensor and a few more megapixels on the ultra-wide lens. Both devices take excellent photos, so it would all come down as a matter of personal preference when it comes to which pictures you like the best.
In general, the Note 10 Plus seems to capture brighter colors, while the iPhone 11 Pro Max appears to capture finer details. The colors on the iPhone model are a bit truer to life, while they can be overstated on the Note 10. However, some people do prefer the oversaturation in photos, so that could be a bonus for some people.
The picture quality of the two devices is pretty much neck and neck. Even night mode on the two handsets is comparable, although the Note 10 Plus can sometimes deliver brighter shots than the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Both handsets also offer a feature that blurs the background of the photo, and again, they are very comparable.
Both devices shoot 4K videos at 60 frames per second, although the iPhone 11 Pro Max beat the Note 10 Plus on auto stabilization.
As far as the selfie cameras go, the Note 10 seems to capture slightly sharper images than the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Once again, the iPhone captures more accurate colors.
Overall, the cameras on the two devices are both capable of capturing brilliant images.
