Chinese jailbreaking team Pangu surprised the Apple community by releasing a jailbreak to the iOS 9.2 – iOS 9.3.3. Despite Apple’s attempt to fix all the loopholes that jailbreakers could exploit, the new release proves that the jailbreaking community remains enthusiastic about liberating their iPhones, iPads and iPod. People looking to jailbreak their devices can now access the Apple device file system and install Cydia.
Some tweaks may not work with iOS 9.3.3
However, not all the extensions and tweaks available via Cydia may be fully compatible with the iOS 9.3.3 firmware. The developers behind these extensions and tweaks need some time to make their packages compatible with the liberated version of the firmware. Some tweaks may not work properly with the latest firmware. Installing an incompatible software could cause your phone to continually reboot.
Once again, the jailbreakers have put together a Google Sheet document that lets people test and report on various tweaks, enhancements, and packages to let everyone else know whether they are working with different versions of the iOS. The list is being constantly updated as new packages are tested. At the top, you’ll see a long list of Yes (in green) suggesting that those tweaks are compatible with iOS 9.3.3. Packages like iFile, Speed Intensifier, MTerminal, and Preference Loader have been found to be working with the latest firmware.
Many tweaks yet to be tested
There are several tweaks that haven’t yet been tested. There are also a large number of tweaks that are not compatible with the iOS 9.3.3. The list is being continuously updated and developers will try to get their packages up to speed soon. The jailbreaking tool released by Pangu is available only for Windows PCs compatible with 64-bit versions of the iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touch.
