Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) has come up with a “Buying guide” for the holiday season to enhance the demand for the Windows 8.1 tablet. Within the guide, front and center are the tablets like the Dell Venue 8 Pro, HP Omni 10 and Lenovo Miix 2. Tablets featured in the guide use the new Intel Atom Z3000 quad core “Bay Trail” processors.

Dell Venue most impressive

Among all the tablets, Dell Venue is the one of the highest profile Windows 8.1 tablets as it has all the required specifications at a minimal price of $299, says a report from CNET. Specifications of the Dell Venue include a quad-core Z3740D Bay Trail processor, an 8-inch 1,280×800-pixel-resolution IPS screen, 2GB of RAM, a full-size SD card slot, Micro-USB charging, with the whole package weighing in at just under one pound.

The resolution of 1,280×800 is less than Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPad Mini Retina’s resolution of 2,048×1,536 for an 8-inch screen, but it may be sufficient for many people. The Dell Venue with RAM of 32 GB is priced at $299, which is also an entry-level price of Dell tablets. The price for the 64 GB is $349.

Another Windows 8.1 tablet comes from HP and is known as HP Omni 10. The device is available at Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s store. Specs of the Omni include a 1,920×1,080 resolution 10.1-inch display (which comes to 218 pixels per inch), an Intel Z3770 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a micro-HDMI port, 32GB of storage, a micro SD card reader to expand storage capacity, and a weight of 1.4 pounds. The HP Omni 10 costs $399.

Lenovo Miix 2 is a Windows 8.1 tablet from Lenovo, and its specifications are similar to the Dell Venue 8 Pro, including an 8-inch 1,280×800 display, 2GB RAM, 32GB of storage and a Micro SD slot. The price of the Lenovo tablet is $299. Intel’s guide also includes 2-in-1 hybrids.
