IBM Launches Enterprise E-Mail Called IBM Verse

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) launched IBM Verse, a new enterprise e-mail with freemium social collaboration offering that uses built in analytics.

IBM Verse provides individuals with an innovative way to communicate, complete task, find the right people and information fast. It uses a different approach to enterprise e-mail by integrating everything an employee does to connect— instant messaging, file sharing, e-mail, calendar, video chats etc., in a single collaboration environment.

IBM Verse features ‘faceted search’

According to the company, IBM Verse is the first messaging system with “faceted search,” which allows users to pinpoint and retrieve specific information they are looking across all types of content in their e-mail.

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) said IBM Verse uses built-in analytics to provide an “at-glance” view of the most critical actions performed by an individual for the day.

IBM Verse also provides an instant context regarding a given project, the people and teams collaborating on it by learning their unique preferences and priorities over time.

Clients will have future option to embed Watson on IBM Verse

In addition, International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) said clients who will be using IBM Verse will have a future option to embed a Watson feature in their collaboration environment. Watson allows users to inquire about a specific topic and receive a direct answer ranked by degree of confidence.

The company said the launching of IBM Verse expands its initiatives to help change how people work, industries operate and companies perform.
