PC gamers have been waiting a long time for the release of Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) on their platform, a wait which is set to be even longer.

Although the game was released for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles back in September 2013, followed by the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions in November last year, PC fans are still waiting.

Further delays

Now Rockstar has announced on its website that instead of a planned January 27 release date, the release has now been delayed until March 24.

“Our apologies for the slight shift in the date but the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be. Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans. Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March,” the post reads.

Later on in the post Rockstar specify that the game will run in full HD and 60 frames per second, with resolutions of up to 4K. The game will support triple monitor setups, and the multi-player mode will support up to 30 players, with Online Heists mode also included.

Tantalizing screenshots

For further information on the minimum and recommended requirements for the PC version of the game, please refer to the original post on the Rockstar website. For those of you impatient to see the game for yourselves, Rockstar has included some screenshots to whet your appetite.

With such a delayed release compared to other formats it remains to be seen how well the game sells on PC. Presumably PC-specific gamers will be out in force on the release date, but those who also play on consoles may have already had their fill.

While studying economics, Brendan found himself comfortably falling down the rabbit hole of restaurant work, ultimately opening a consulting business and working as a private wine buyer. On a whim, he moved to China, and in his first week following a triumphant pub quiz victory, he found himself bleeding on the floor based on his arrogance. The same man who put him there offered him a job lecturing for the University of Wales in various sister universities throughout the Middle Kingdom. While primarily lecturing in descriptive and comparative statistics, Brendan simultaneously earned an Msc in Banking and International Finance from the University of Wales-Bangor.
