Google Takes Glass To A Golf Event

Updated on

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) latest marketing stint for Google Glass took them to a golf tournament in Florida. The sale stint was discovered by an unidentified reader as reported to Business Insider.

Google’s big online Glass sale last month

Last month, Google held a one-day sales event for Glass which the company sold each pair at $1, 500. Even though it was a hefty price tag, buyers purchased the entire stock. In the meantime, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has yet to announce plans for an official launch of the device. Not surprisingly, the company did not announce their Glass sale at the gold even either.

A recent blog post from Google explained, “We’ve since built our inventory back up and plan to continue to accelerate new ways to expand the program in the weeks and months ahead. Our hope is to bring Glass to new Explorers, like optometrists, sports lovers, online retailers, cooks and travelers, who (like you!) can get in early and help make Glass better as part of our open beta, ahead of a wider consumer launch.”

Real possibilities for Google Glass

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s representative has yet to disclose the number of Glass devices sold at the recent event. There is also no word on whether or not the tech giant plans to hold a similar event.

Glass is a new wearable technology that puts the internet and mobile experience right in front of the user. This particular device has appealing features for the fitness buffs, travelers, and anyone who wants the convenience of wearable technology. The most current wearable technologies come in the form of smartwatches, so the fact that Google Glass offers something quite different could be a huge win for the company.

The fact Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is taking its time rolling out the highly anticipated gadget proves big plans for it. Only time will tell when and if it makes a major launch.
