Google Glass To Be Managed Through Play Store

The updated Play Store includes mention of the company’s significant step into wearable computers, Google Glass, indicating that the wearable smart glass device will be managed through the app store soon. Those who have connected Glass with their Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) account have been seeing the device in the site’s “compatible devices” list.

The new interface follows many of the style guidelines used in the redesigns of other Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) services in the past. The new look is more in tune with the Android application with user wishlists finally accessible through web.

The web version however gets the same cards-based design that we have seen in the device clients but also brings some web-specific changes like bigger screenshots. The new change is part of a visual redesign that was earlier announced by Google’s Chris Yerga that some new updates for the Google Play store were coming up.

Redesigned Home Makes It Easier For Users

As anticipated, the redesigned home for applications makes it easier for users to save interesting apps for later downloading. Pages load seamlessly allowing users to browse each individual area of the Google Play Store without ever needing to wait for an individual page to reload completely.

A persistent left side bar is also a major part of the update that gives a user quick access to the navigation menu for moving around the app store.

It was also reported that Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) aimed to redesign its play apps – like Play Books, Play Videos, and Play Music to stay in-tuned with its App Store’s redesign.
