How To Install Google Edition Of Android On HTC One

Updated on

HTC’s flagship device – the HTC One has proved itself as a successful Android smartphone. The phone comes with many enticing features that makes it on par, or better in some regards when comparing it with Samsung’s flagship phone – the Galaxy S4. HTC One comes with Sense 5 UI skin, which is the first phone to receive this new UI, UltraPixel camera module and best of all – the strong build quality.

If you’ve got your HTC One from a provider like AT&T, T-Mobile, or any other, then the good news is that you can turn your phone into a HTC One Google Play edition. The advantage? You get a vanilla version of Android that’s found on the Google Play edition, with no bloatware and everything working as it should be. The only downside is the lack of data usage section in settings, but for that you can use some free apps available at the Google Play Store.

Procedure For Installation on HTC One

Before proceeding forward, make sure that you’re on a rooted device with a custom recovery installed. Both CWM and TWRP are supported. The ROM that you’re going to install is compatible with all GSM versions of HTC One. The developer also recommends to do a factory reset, unless you’re coming from another GPe ROM.
