Google Drive Service Goes Down For Many Users

Updated on

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is reporting downtime  issues with its cloud storage service Google Drive in the U.S. and abroad.

“We’re investigating reports of an issue with Google Drive” the company confirmed on its service status page, promising to “provide more information shortly.”

Google Drive Service Goes Down For Many Users

Many users from all over the world have been trying to access Google Drive since Monday morning and have experienced sluggishness or downtime issues while making the initial connection.

The problems occurred at around 14:00 GMT on Monday, when users of the online storage service tweeted about having problems accessing the service, although not all users are affected.

“We’re aware of a problem with Google Drive affecting a significant subset of users. The affected users are unable to access Google Drive. We will provide an update by 3/18/13 12:10 PM detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change.” the company wrote on its status page.

The interruption in service was intermittent and some users were unable to access the services both free or paid for Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Apps accounts.

According to Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s status dashboard Drive is the only web service to be encountering issues today. However, no further details, or an estimated fix time have been released yet.

Google Drive is the main storage option for Google’s new laptop, the Pixel, and remained in the headlines lately for Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Keep, its notetaking service that recently came out in the market.

Here is what few users tweeted about the service disruption:

Veronia Ludwig (@VeronicaLudwig) If you’re dependent on google drive to get stuff done & google drive is down, you’re kind of screwed. (my current status)

Bud Hunt (@budtheteacher) Google Drive is having a bad morning.
