Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) announced its decision to create additional 850 new jobs at its Dearborn Truck, Stamping and Diversified facilities to support the production of its 2015 F-150.

The automaker is scheduled to launch its all-new 2015 F-150 truck over the next several weeks.
Joe Hinrichs, president, The Americas at Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) said,“As customer anticipation for the all-new F-150 continues to build, today we are bringing on 850 new jobs to help meet the market demand for the toughest, smartest, most capable F-150 ever. The new truck sets new standards for the future of tough – right down to how it’s built.”
Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) transformed its Dearborn Truck Plant as part of the launching of the all-new F-150. According to the automaker, it is the largest manufacturing transformation since 2004. The company replaced its legacy manufacturing equipment with the latest production technology.
Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) is currently conducting a complete renovation of its Ford Rouge Factory Tour with new films, exhibits and hands-on experiences related to the new F-150 vehicle.
Ford surpasses goal to create 12,000 hourly jobs
Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) surpassed its objective to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the United States by 2015. Such objective was part of its agreement with UAW in 2011. The automaker already created more than 14,000 hourly jobs. In Michigan alone, the company already added 4,000 jobs.
Jimmy Settles, UAW vice president and director of the National Ford Department commented, “Today we celebrate the commitment to excellence that the hardworking men and women of the Rouge demonstrate every day. The technology in the all-new 2015 F-150 is something the auto industry has never seen before. UAW members are poised and excited to build the next generation of America’s favorite truck.”
Ford Motor Company divided the 850 newly created jobs among the three Dearborn facilities. More than 500 jobs will be added at the Dearborn Truck, about 300 for the Dearborn Stamping and over 50 jobs for the Dearborn Diversified facility. The total workforce of the three facilities will become almost 5,000.
Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder said, “Ford’s announcement is more positive news for the citizens of Michigan and a further sign of the comeback of Michigan, manufacturing and the auto industry.”
Earlier this month, Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) also added more than 1,000 jobs at its Oakville Assembly plant in Canada.
