We’ve been hearing rumors about the Final Fantasy 7 remake for quite some time, and now there’s another update. It sounds like there will be a PC version of the highly anticipated title. It was previously believed that the Final Fantasy 7 remake wouldn’t have a PC version.
News about Final Fantasy 7 remake’s PC version
PS3 developer Wiki editor Roxanne tweeted that they have uncovered several indications about the Final Fantasy 7 remake’s PC version. She said those indications indicate there will be a PC version “sooner or later.”
She found PC code inside the game and mentions of resolutions that are higher than those of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Yeah already discussed this yesterday in Discord with others that there are many “many” signs inside the Demo that we will see a future PC Port sooner or later. There is PC Code still left inside, and it mentions various higher Resolutions together with some NVIDIA and AMD stuff.

In another tweet, she said the in-game videos were created only in 1080/30p and a number of config files suggest the game also runs at 1080/30p. The files also suggest the Final Fantasy 7 remake will be upscaled on a PS4 Pro.
Release scheduled for March
Developer Square Enix’s financial guidance recently suggested that the Final Fantasy 7 remake could be bumped to fiscal 2021. The game maker’s fiscal 2020 ends in March, so that wasn’t entirely off base.
Preorders for the game began recently, and it’s set for a March release, which means most of the earnings from it will indeed appear in fiscal 2021, with early sales being included in fiscal 2020. Game art recently confirmed that the Final Fantasy 7 remake will be a PlayStation exclusive for one year, which means the game will be going to the Xbox on March 3, 2021.

It’s unclear when the Final Fantasy 7 remake’s PC version will be released, but it will obviously be at some point after that date.
