Initial report

Police around the University of Missouri are searching for a potential female shooter around the campus. At this point though, there are no reports of anyone being shot. Officials at the University of Missouri say the woman may be suicidal and carrying a handgun, so they are advising students to “take appropriate actions.”

University of Missouri officials describe the potential female shooter as a black woman in her mid to late 20s. She was last seen wearing a hoodie with the university logo on it, a pair of brown pants, and brown flip flops. Officials say they pinged the woman in question to determine roughly where on the campus she might be. They thought she might have been in the vicinity of the White Campus area and advised students to shelter in place or avoid the area if not there.
