Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), General Motors, McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) and Boeing are some companies that will follow Apple and Facebook with their earnings. Also, there will apparently be an update on United States home sales and durable goods orders this week.
Netflix will kick off the earnings week
Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) is due to post its earnings today, April 21st. The shares of the online video streaming company witnessed a decline in price due to a recent selloff in tech, internet and biotech stocks.

On Tuesday, McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD), AT&T, Comcast and China Mobile will announce their results. Also, there will be update on the U.S. existing home sales, which is a substantial portion of the housing market, along with a speech by former Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke in Canada.
All eyes on Apple and Facebook
On Wednesday, tech juggernauts Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) are expected to come up with their earnings after market close in New York. Investors in Apple will be interested to know the launch dates of the new products or services along with updates (if any) on dividends and stock buybacks, as the iPhone maker is under pressure to return more cash to investors. From Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), analysts are expecting earnings per share of $10.17 on $43.55 billion in revenues, which represent a year-over-year (y/y) growth of 1% and 0%, respectively.
Analysts and investors will be closely monitoring Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s conference call, as the social networker is expected to inform on its plans after the recent acquisition of Whatsapp and Oculus VR.
Other companies related to different segments that will post their earnings on Wednesday are Boeing, Procter & Gamble, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments and Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA).
Thursday will also see some big names from various segments announcing their results. Those expected on Thursday are General Motors, Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Starbucks, Amazon.com, Visa, Verizon Communications, Caterpillar, PulteGroup, Time Warner Cable and KKR. An update on the U.S. durable goods orders and weekly initial jobless claims will also be announced on the same day.
A University of Michigan U.S. consumer confidence survey will be released on the last working day of the week, Friday, along with the earnings from Ford Motors.
