Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has received a request from rapper and fashion designer Kanye West to invest $1 billion in his ideas. West asked his followers on Twitter to urge Zuckerberg to support him.

West also asks Larry Page for help

On Saturday night, the rapper revealed his $53 million debt, after which he released his eighth studio album and performed on TV comedy show Saturday Night Live.

“I write this to you my brothers while still 53 million dollars in personal debt. Please pray we overcome … This is my true heart,” he tweeted on Saturday. “World, please tweet, FaceTime, Facebook, Instagram, whatever you gotta do to get Mark to support me.”

West even approached Alphabet CEO Larry Page for help. West complained that people readily invest in opening schools in Africa but do not give money to “real artists” like him. Neither Zuckerberg nor Page have verified accounts on Twitter. After West’s tweet, Facebook’s CEO said he has received requests from some Twitter users to help the rapper.

West doesn’t agree with Facebook CEO’s educational philanthropy

In his tweets, West also expressed anger, stating that there are a lot of hypocrites in Silicon Valley as there are several executives who listen to rap to portray a cool image but never do anything to support the music industry. Facebook’s CEO is part of an investment group that aims to educate millions of deprived children in Africa and Asia by offering them cheap, private education.

It seems that West referenced Zuckerberg’s educational philanthropy. West frankly said that the money could be better spent helping him since he is, according to him, the “Jordan and Steph Curry of music, meaning, “I’m the best of 2 generations.”

West is married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who has been investing tens of millions of dollars into his fashion label. Business Insider states that his latest clothing line is selling high-end coats and jackets at rates as high as $3,000 to $4,000. Kayne’s sweatpants have been priced at $510. In an interview with BET in 2015, the controversial rapper said his fashion business put him $16 million in debt.
