Download Google Pixel 2 Launcher: Here’s How To

Updated on

Google’s new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL were revealed for the first time in last week’s Made By Google event. If you were paying attention, you might have noticed that Google also featured a new Pixel launcher which will come preinstalled on devices. Although it was believed that the Pixel launcher would be exclusive to the Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL and Pixel C tablet, you can download the Google Pixel 2 launcher for your Google smartphone if it’s running on Android 5.0 Lollipop or newer. Here’s how to do it!

The Google Pixel 2 launcher brings many changes with it. However, one function that truly stands out is the Google Search bar. As you may realize, the Google Pixel 2 XL is quite a large smartphone, and it might be hard to reach the top of the screen to search for something via the Google bar. Thus, Google made a smart move by moving the Search bar to the bottom of the screen. The Search bar’s former place is now occupied by an “At a glance” widget, a new feature that will remind you of the events in your Google Calendar. It will also inform you about the weather forecast, as long as location services are enabled. The “At a Glance” widget is only located on the screen’s homepage, while the Google Search Bar is displayed regardless of the page you are on.

If you have a Nexus device running on Android 8.0 Oreo, you could try running the new Google Camera app along with the new Pixel Wallpapers app. Unfortunately, the Pixel Wallpapers app doesn’t work steadily on all devices and tends to crash at times. However, it doesn’t cost you anything to try it out.

In order to test the Google Pixel 2 Launcher, Google Camera app, and Pixel Wallpapers app, just follow the links below.
