Consumers, Community Leaders Detail Herbalife Deceptions In New Statewide Video Campaign

Updated on

Inbox Chicago, IL— In an effort to raise public awareness about the predatory practices of multi-level marketing nutrition company Herbalife, dozens of Illinoisans will share on camera how they were exploited by a business built on false promises of financial success and good health.

Faces of Fraud: The Real Victims of Herbalife is a grassroots initiative supported by local business, faith-based, and community-based organizations across the state that are particularly concerned with Herbalife’s focus on recruiting members of low-income Hispanic and Latino communities into the scheme.

Campaign against Herbalife’s deceptions

The campaign will launch its opening exhibition in Chicago amidst an ongoing probe of Herbalife by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan. The U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission, and New York Attorney General are also investigating the company.
