An explosion shook a chemical plant in the eastern Chinese province of Shandong, Chinese state media said on Tuesday, though there were no immediate reports of casualties in a country on edge after Tianjin blasts killed more than 145 people last month.

The blast was so massive it could be seen and heard from a great distance, report RT.

The blast occurred at the industrial zone of Lijin, Dongying City of Shandong, just before 11.30pm local time.
