However, it wants buyers to make a down payment of $279.99 for the 128GB model and $529.99 for the 512GB model. T-Mobile is also accepting trade-ins of eligible Samsung devices for 50% off the Note 9 over 24 monthly bill credits.

For buyers who prefer pre-paid plans, Straight Talk Wireless is ready to finance the Note 9 over 24 months to make the premium phone a bit more affordable. It must be noted that Straight Talk is currently selling only the $999.99 128GB model.

Xfinity Mobile, which is selling both models, is ready to finance your purchase over the course of 24 months. If you activate a new line and port over an existing number, you are also entitled to a $300 prepaid card.

Deals from retailers

Samsung is also offering an attractive offer on the pre-order of a Note 9. Considering that the Note 9 is the first Android phone to run Epic Games’ Fortnite, the Korean electronics giant is offering freebies to attract the game’s fans. Samsung is offering a pair of AKG Noise Cancelling Headphones ($299 value) or a unique Fortnite Galaxy skin bundled with 15,000 V-bucks ($150 value) for free with pre-orders. You can also get all these extras by paying $99 extra. It must be noted that you can get the same offers by ordering through the big four U.S. carriers and other selected retailers as well.

Best Buy is promising up to $200 in savings on the Note 9 with a pre-order and qualified activation. Customers buying an unlocked Note 9 can save up to $450 on it with a trade-in of select smartphones.

Amazon is selling both models at the regular price (128GB for $999.99 and 512GB for $1249.99). However, you can use Amazon’s credit card (if you have one) to get 5% cash back.

B&H is also accepting pre-orders of the Note 9. B&H’s Galaxy Note 9 deals include not only the usual preorder items, but also a Samsung Qi Wireless Charger Duo and a DeX pad dock for free.

Galaxy Note 9 has attractive specs

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 comes with the biggest display the company has ever fitted in a phone meant for mass production. The Note 9 sports a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen that’s  HDR10-compliant and features an 18:59 aspect ratio,1440 x 2960 resolution, 83.4% screen-to-body ratio, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Compared to the Note 8, the Note 9 has a higher screen-to-body ratio and lower pixel density, as Samsung managed to pull out the same resolution on the larger display.

The South Korean electronics giant has managed to fit in two stereo speakers tuned by AKG with Dolby Atmos branding. The only problem is that the stereo speakers cannot really recreate Atmos audio. The fingerprint sensor is located below the rear camera, which is similar to the Galaxy S9. The Note 9 comes with a bright yellow S Pen with Bluetooth LE, making it more productive.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 also comes with a bigger 4,000 mAh battery, perhaps one of the company’s strongest arguments for such a high price. Further, the handset comes with quick wired charging and wireless charging. The phone sailed through Samsung’s “8 point Quality Check” program, the most severe in the industry, which was introduced after the Note 7 debacle.
