Details of the BlackBerry Passport “Silver Edition” have been leaked before the phone’s official launch. According to CrackBerry, the Silver Edition Passport is the BlackBerry “Dallas” that has been in the news for months now.

The name of the handset, the “Silver Edition,” was revealed by a leaked “confidential” slide. The device appears similar to the original version. An aluminum-made high-end form factor is the only twist in its sports model.
If you are afraid of the original Passport’s sharp corners, the Silver Edition version could be the right choice for you. The leaked version appears to have rounded corners similar to AT&T’s version of the Passport. This does not mean the model will appear in the U.S., as for now there is no information on where it will be available.
However, we do know that the BlackBerry Dallas or Passport Silver Edition (as we know now) has been certified in Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia and by the FCC. So we can expect the handset to make a debut soon.
Internal specs same as original Passport?
As of now, not much is known about the phone, including its pricing, availability and carrier options. But it can be assumed that the Silver Edition will be similar to the original Passport in internal specs. So users can expect the new model to have a 4.5-inch display with a 1440 x 1440 resolution, 3GB of RAM, a rear camera with 13 megapixels, a front snapper of 2 MP, and a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.2 GHz CPU and the Adreno 330 GPU.
Though it is not the Android-powered BlackBerry we have hearing of, BlackBerry’s fans will be glad to see another BB10 model. A few days ago, the first pictures of the BlackBerry “Venice” were leaked online. This is no ordinary device as it could be the first device from the Canadian firm to run on the Android OS.
Various reports have been hinting at BlackBerry working on an Android phone. Last month, Android Community reported that BlackBerry acquired two Android-related domains, AndroidSecured.com and AndroidSecured.net, as of July 7. Even BlackBerry CEO John Chen accepted that the company could work with Android, if it is sure of the security factors.
“We only build secure phones, and BlackBerry is the most secure phone. So, if I can find a way to secure the Android phone, I will also build that,” Chen told CNBC during an interview.
