Bill Ackman Says His Former Boyfriend is David Einhorn

I’m not going to say I’m a Taylor Smith fan or detractor, however, if you are going to force me to choose sides between her and two of the funniest women on the planet in Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, it’s an easy choice. Having watched every episode of 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation for years, and never having heard a Taylor Swift song to the best of my knowledge, it’s easy to guess where my allegiance lies.

Swift, Vanity Fair’s “April Girl”, responded to jokes made by Fey and Poehler at the Golden Globes by quoting Katie Couric who was quoting Madeleine Albright when she said, ‘There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women.’”

In typical good humor, Poehler responded today with, “Aw, I feel bad if she was upset. I am a feminist and she is a young and talented girl. That being said, I do agree I am going to hell. But for other reasons. Mostly boring tax stuff.”

This, however, is not where the cattiness begins or ends for those who follow the financial world. That is reserved for a number of quotes that will find their way to press today when Vanity Fair’s piece on Bill Ackman and the Herbalife battle is properly put out there.

Among the bizarre that will find its way to readers today:

(Perhaps the strangest involves the Indigo Girls, America’s smallest market baseball team the Milwaukee Brewers, The Mets,a baseball team that became embroiled in the Bernie Madoff affair, and a now “sexually ambiguous” relationship between a couple of billionaires)

“David (Einhorn) and I are friendly, but it’s like we were boyfriend and boyfriend, and then one day we were just friends, and now we’re just friendly,” Ackman says. “I have enormous respect for him. But as a result of that, I stopped calling him and he stopped calling me, so that’s why I didn’t talk to him (about Herbalife).”

To the heart of the Hebalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF) War, Robert Chapman will give us this tidbit on Ackman…..

“Ackman seems to have this “Superman complex, if he jumped off a building in pursuit of super-human powered flight but then slammed to the ground, I’m pretty sure he’d blame the unanticipated and unfair force of gravity.”

Bill Ackman not to be outdone had this to say of Chapman, “He’s a lunatic. And I think, by the way, that he’s proud to be a lunatic, and he’s even said as much, that it’s part of strategy, as an activist (investor) to make the other side think you’re crazy.”

All we know is that you would be crazy not to read the piece in its entirety. The fun doesn’t stop here.
