Apple Inc. Planning To Release iPhone 7 Pro [RUMOR]

Apple offering more variations on iPhone

In previous years Apple fans have had to be content with a single iPhone in each generation. That has changed recently, with the Cupertino-based tech giant releasing multiple versions of each iPhone in order to attract a more diverse range of customers.

According to a new report in Forbes, it looks set to continue that trend by releasing four variations on the iPhone in 2016 alone. This month will see the launch of the iPhone SE, a 4-inch replacement for the iPhone 5s.

Later this year it looks as though Apple will launch the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, updated versions of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Now it seems that Apple will make a break from past tradition and also release an iPhone 7 Pro to top out the range.

Well-regarded analyst claims iPhone 7 Pro will become reality

MacRumors quotes famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI securities, who says that the iPhone 7 will feature a 4.7-inch display while the iPhone Plus will measure 5.5-inches. It is also rumored that both devices will be water resistant.

Perhaps the most exciting rumor, however, is the iPhone 7 Pro. The range-topping smartphone would feature a ton of high-end features, including a new camera never before seen on a mobile device.

It is rumored that the iPhone 7 Pro will use a dual lens camera developed by LinX, the imaging specialist firm acquired by Apple last year. With the addition of LinX technology, the iPhone could become one of the best camera phones in the world once more.

LinX says that its technology allows for vastly improved performance in low light, and the unit could make use of a 2-3X optical zoom. By using two lenses, the camera module will remain thin and not affect the size and weight of the smartphone.

Experts worry about fragmentation of Apple ecosystem

As always it is wise to take these rumors with a pinch of salt. All the same the introduction of an iPhone Pro would mark the latest evolution in Apple strategy. Instead of offering the best possible iPhone to everyone, the company has started to fragment its product offering. Analysts are worried that this could affect the company eco system.

However it must be said that making an iPhone 7 Pro would bring the smartphone in line with other product lines including the iPad and the MacBook. Some experts say that the more expensive iPhone 7 Pro will be designed to sell in low volumes because of production restraints on the LinX camera modules.

Apple has millions of loyal fans, and many of them save up each year to buy the latest version of the iPhone. Does Apple risk jeopardizing this loyalty with a super expensive module?

At this stage it is impossible to say, especially given the fact that Apple itself has not confirmed that it will be launching an iPhone Pro. Keep your ears open for the latest rumors regarding the much-hyped new smartphone.
