Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) mobile Designer Jordan Price wrote on his blog about why he quit his dream job at the Cupertino-based firm. In his blog titled “I wanted to work at Apple really bad, and now not so much,” Price gave a reflection of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) being a worthless place to work.
Inflexible and long working hours at Apple irritating
He wrote that ever since he started working with the company, long working hours and a long commute started irritating him, but he realized that many other techies like him commute to and fro from San Francisco on a private bus with wifi. He complained about the long and inflexible hours because of which he could not meet his daughter during the week. Price said that he was working on a reduced salary, but thought that it would benefit his career, in the long run, to work with such a prestigious company.
After joining Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) it became difficult for him with so many passwords, accounts and logins to get on the server. He said that meetings, which were held regularly, disturbed everyone, harming their productivity, but at the same time it was necessary for a company so large making such high-quality products.
He said that these small things were bothersome in the beginning, but he thought that in the long term, nothing of this sort would affect him.
Immediate boss, the worst experience
In his blog, Price explained the worst phase of his story where he mentioned his boss as someone who makes personal insults, and who started making direct and indirect insults to him. Price said that his boss warned him that his contract would not be renewed if he fails at certain tasks. He said that the boss would press him to complete some urgent designs needed to be examined. Price said that his boss demeaned his team members in a similar fashion, which he didn’t like at all. He felt like working as a teenager executive, in a retail job, rather than being a part of the greatest tech companies in the world.
Price tried to sail through this but could not survive in the company for long, and now is looking for a new job, Price wrote in the blog.
Back in December, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) slipped to 35th position on Glasssdoor.com’s “Best places to work” list for 2014. The decision was based on reviews given by employees.
