Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) started shipping orders for the new iPod Touch on Tuesday morning. The Cupertino-based tech company also sent emails to their customers, alerting them that their item has been shipped, and they can expect them to arrive within a week.
The fifth generation iPod Touch is even better than the previous generations, thanks to features like a four-inch retina display, 5mp camera with iSight and 1080p video, iOS 6, dual-core A5 chip, and new EarPods. Like the previous generations of iPod Touch devices, this one lets you listen to music, watch shows and movies, play games, and download most apps. The fifth generation iPod also allows users to store and access all their favorite files on iCloud. iOS 6 also enhances this iPod with Siri, FaceTime video call, Maps, Passbook, and Facebook integration.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s new iPod starts at $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB. Unlike previous generations of the iPod Touch, this generation comes in five different color choices, including black, silver, coral, lime, and blue. The iPod Touch is also available in red for (PRODUCT) in which some sale proceeds go towards AIDS research.
The iPod Touch makes a terrific gift for people who want a device with most of the features of the iPhone 5, without signing a contract. I predict this will be another hot gadget this upcoming holiday season, and that stores will have a hard time keeping it in stock later on this year.
Except for the whole iOS 6 Maps gaffe, I think most people will be super impressed with the new iPod Touch.
It’s also been reported that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has started shipping new iPod Nanos today. The new nano measures 2.5 inches in height and 5.4 mm in width. It has a larger multi-touch display that lets you see your music, videos, and photos. It also comes in six colors including purple, lime, aqua, blue, coral, silver, and black. It starts at $149.
