Just as we predicted here at ValueWalk, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has finally announced that they will be holding an event on September 12th. Reports suggest that the company made an official announcement that will most like be the release announcement for the iPhone 5.
We have reported several times here at ValueWalk that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) would most likely be releasing its 6th generation iPhone on the 12th of this month, and that it would most likely hit stores by the 21st. It would seem that those predictions have come true.
We also believe there will be another event later in the fall to announce the release of the new iPad mini, which is a rumored product that Apple has yet to confirm the existence of. We have several reports from different suppliers which indicates that Apple is indeed in the production stage for the iPad mini, and even Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) guru, Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray believes this to be true.
If the iPhone 5 is truly released at this event, it could possibly be the biggest product launch in Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) history, and will most likely catapult them back into the number one sales position in the smartphone world. They recently lost that coveted place to their arch rival, Samsung, and many analysts believe that their sales slumped due to anticipation of the iPhone 5.
