Apple Inc. (AAPL) Officially Schedules Sept. 10 Media Event

Apple sets media event set for Sept. 10

Business Insider’s Steve Kovach posted about the media event, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. Pacific on Sept. 10. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to unveil the new flagship iPhone 5S on that date, along with the iPhone 5C.

The iPhone 5S is expected to have better hardware like a faster processor and better camera and come in a gold color option. The iPhone 5C is expected to be Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s low cost version of the handset. It’s expected to have a plastic body and be available in a variety of different colors.

iOS 7 unveiling

Of course along with new iPhones it’s also expected that we will see more about iOS 7. We’ve known for quite some time that the operating system will be completely revamped. We’ve seen quite a few clues about what to expect, both in the operating system and the handset set itself, including possible confirmation through the iOS 7 beta that the iPhone will feature a fingerprint sensor in the near future.

Other than that, we’ll just have to wait and see what Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has to say at the big event. The company will undoubtedly provide the actual launch date for both the full version of iOS 7 and the new iPhones, although there is speculation that they will launch 10 days after the event. This would follow along with the plans Apple has followed in the past, which have also involved holding a media event 10 days before the launch of a new device.

And don’t forget the screen shots we had last week showing that Apple was restricting time off for AppleCare employees in the second half of September.
