Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) was recently named in an investigation list created by Chinese investigators over possible pornographic content. According to the Wall Street Journal, the tech giant was one of the many companies mentioned in the investigation list.  Other websites and mobile application providers mentioned in the list included more obscure sites.

This may be just the beginning of more government investigations on the company. Last month,  Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s chief executive officer Tim Cook delivered an apology for poor customer service and hardware warranty issues.

What’s most interesting about Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s name being thrown in for the investigation, is that pornographic content is supposedly not allowed in the App Store, at least according to Apple’s terms of use.

There are some analysts that are comparing Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s current issue with Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s  problem with China Central Television. CCT accused Google of spreading pornography four years ago.  This proved to be a real problem for the search engine giant as hackers started to attack them. This forced Google to move their headquarters to Hong Kong.

This isn’t the first time Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has been under investigation over accusations of peddling pornography. However, this problem could go a little deeper. China usually spends more time blocking politically sensitive content than other forms of questionable content. Some analysts also claim that the Chinese government will occasionally use things like porn as an excuse to weed out politically sensitive content.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s current issue with the Chinese government is not unique. It’s not uncommon for companies that make gadgets and popular technology services to run into problems with international governments. Liberated internet isn’t available for all and there will always be at least one country that doesn’t agree with certain applications or websites.

Hopefully, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) can solve this issue before it affects their operations in China.
