“His genius is not just his ability to see what others cannot but also how he applies it,” Bono wrote. “To watch him with his workmates in the holy of holies, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s design lab, or on a night out is to observe a very rare esprit de corps.”

Ive has been one of the most well-known faces of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) since the passing of co-founder Steve Jobs. Ive has designed the software for numerous Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) devices, from the Mac to the iPhone and the iPad. Now he heads up the company’s interface and software design division.

He has been the recipient of numerous awards. In 2012 he was knighted by Princess Anne in the U.K., and in September, Ive and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s whole design team was honored by Design and Art Direction as the best design studio of the last 50 years.

Other big names in the tech and financial industries also made the list, like Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO)’s CEO Marissa Mayer, who made the list of Pioneers. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) COO Sheryl Sandberg and Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) founder and CEO Elon Musk landed on Time’s list of influential titans.
