Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iOS 7 update has been fraught with problems from day one, even spurring a lawsuit from one user angry over unwanted files which come with the operating system. But one of the biggest issues is that many owners of iOS products couldn’t even use the new operating system without feeling nauseous. Many were experiencing vertigo because of the animations that were part of the operating system. With this latest update, however, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) hopes to fix that issue.
iOS 7.0.3 update fixes bugs
Although every operating system update has been problematic for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), iOS 7 is arguably the most troubled one. The company completely redesigned the operating system, so it’s no wonder there have been so many problems from day one. Nonetheless, many users say the issues with the operating system have been so obvious that Apple should have caught them before rolling out iOS 7.
The nauseating animations are one area of concern. BGR reported on Oct. 1 that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) rolled out iOS 7.0.3 to employees and partners with a public release coming at a later date. That release arrived on Tuesday, and it appears to have changed one of the options so that users can now disable those animations which make them nauseous.
Previously, going into General and then Accessibility offered a Reduce Motion setting that should have helped with the nausea problem. However, it didn’t get rid of the icon animations which many were having problems with. According to Time’s Matt Peckham, Now the Reduce Motion setting also gets rid of those pesky icon animations for those who literally feel like they’re going to puke from watching them.

In addition to changing that setting, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) also rolled out support for iCloud Keychain, which can store account names, credit card numbers and passwords across all of the user’s iOS devices. There’s also a new password feature in Safari which will help users figure out more secure passwords and a fix for a glitch which allowed some to bypass the passcode on the Lock Screen.
Other big fixes in iOS 7.0.3 include problems with iMessage which prevented the system from sending messages and also sometimes prevented iMessage from activating. It also added back web search ability and Wikipedia through Spotlight, fixed some issues with Siri and corrected a bug which turned supervised devices into unsupervised ones while software is updating.
