Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) still makes computers. The Cupertino-based tech giant just unveiled a new line of iMac computers. The 21.5 inch iMac features a 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor. It also features Iris Pro graphics to ensure a better visual experience.

Both the 27-inch and 21.5-inch models have quad-core i5 processors as well as NVDIA GeForce GTX 700 series. Another plus for the line of iMacs is that they support 802.11ac Wi-Fi. The senior vice president for Worldwide Marketing for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Phillip Schiller explained, “iMac continues to be the example that proves how beautiful, fast and fun a desktop computer can be. Inside its ultra-thin aluminium enclosure, the new iMac has the latest Intel processors, faster graphics, next generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi and faster PCIe flash storage.”

The iMac computer is Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s answer to traditional desktop computers. Not only do these computers look sleeker and more upscale, they also offer a more premium experience. Like the iPhone and iPad, users will pay an equally premium price.

CNET’s Jonathan Skillings explained the pricing, stating: “The 21.5-inch iMac is available with a 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.2GHz and Intel Iris Pro for a suggested retail price of $1,299. With a 2.9GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 and Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6 GHz and Nvidia GeForce GT 750M, the suggested retail price is $1,499. The 27-inch iMac, meanwhile, comes with a 3.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6GHz and Nvidia GeForce GTX 755M for a suggested retail price of $1,799. With a 3.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 and Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.8GHz and Nvidia GeForce GTX 775M, the suggested retail price is $1,999.”

Although the iMac or Macbook lineup isn’t as successful in terms of sales as the iPhone or iPad, it’s still a strong product.
