Anonymous Is Waging A War Against ISIS [VIDEO]

Updated on

Anonymous has declared war on ISIS. The hacker group released a video on YouTube over the weekend condemning the Paris attacks by ISIS terrorists and promising vengeance. The video is in French, and warns the Islamic State that “We will launch the biggest operation ever against you.”

Anonymous also tweeted a statement on Friday that said: “Make no mistake: #Anonymous is at war with #Daesh. We won’t stop opposing #Islamic State. We’re also better hackers. #OpIsis”.

Daesh is an insulting term that most Arab states and others use to refer to Isis. It is an Arabic acronym of the words that form I.S.I.S (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) in English. It is also a play on words as it is a derogatory term that is designed as a dig at the leadership of the jihadist group.

“Expect massive cyber attacks. War is declared. Get prepared,” the masked man in the new Anonymous video says in French. “Anonymous from all over the world will hunt you down. You should know that we will find you and we will not let you go. We will launch the biggest operation ever against you. ”

The YouTube video went on to say that: “The French people are stronger than you and will come out of this atrocity even stronger.”

The video has already had more than a million views, but it is not the first time this group of “hacktivists” has gone after ISIS. Following January’s Charlie Hebdo terrorist attacks in Paris, they overwhelmed radical websites with traffic and helped take down thousand ISIS twitter accounts.

The hacker group send out an update via Tweet a few hours after the release of the video: “Just to be clear: #Anonymous hasn’t just declared war on #IslamicState, we’ve been at war for quite some time already”.

The coordinated attacks carried out by seven terrorists in Paris on Friday, November the 13th claimed 129 lives, leaving around 400 wounded, many with critical injuries.

The attack by the IS terrorists hit seven separate locations in Paris, including restaurants where people were enjoying a night out and Stade de France where France was playing a friendly football (soccer) match versus Germany. Luckily, one of the terrorists who tried to gain entrance to the stadium was turned away, so the casualties were minimal when he exploded his suicide vest.

In one attack, 89 innocent people were killed when gunmen broke into Bataclan concert hall and began randomly firing into the crowds who were watching a concert by American band Eagles of Death Metal.

In the video, Anonymous also urged everyone across the globe to not overlook the victims of similar terrorist attacks in Beirut and Kenya in recent weeks.
