Rovio just launched “Angry Birds Friends” for iOS  and Android operating systems. Just a few weeks ago, Rovio announced their plan to launch the game as a Facebook-connected version. Like all Angry Bird games, the concept is the same, the only difference with this is that you get to compete with friends on Facebook.

Angry Birds Friends Game Features

The new game also features weekly tournaments with new levels, gifts, challenges, and daily rewards. Players can easily win bronze, silver, or gold trophies to brag to their friends on Facebook. This game also syncs with Facebook automatically to ensure that you won’t have to restart the entire game when you leave the computer or switch devices.

The download is free. The iOS version is compatible with iPhone 3G S and later, iPod Touch third generation or later, and iPad. The Android version is compatible with operating systems 2.2 and up.

Players will start the game with a 5-step tutorial guide that will show you the process of playing the game. Once that part is complete, players can login with their Facebook credentials and receive a bundle of 200 bird coins. These coins can be used later for power-ups.

“Angry Birds Friends” is just like all the other games in the franchise. Fans of “Angry Birds” should appreciate the new game and it’s probably going to be another big hit. The appeal of this particular game and franchise has likely been the simplicity of it. It’s a casual game that’s easy yet provides a bit of a challenge that appeals to many types of gamers. Although it’s not the most extraordinary of games, it’s still an entertaining way to pass the time. With the success of other social games like “Words With Friends” and “Draw Something”, it was inevitable that Rovio would make their most popular game more social.
